Senate Joint Resolution mourning the death of Dr. Phillip W. Williams of Huntsville, Alabama, who died on April 12, 2013, at age 73.

Dr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of North Alabama in 1961 and served in the United States Army for more than 20 years, including two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Following military service, Dr. Williams founded and operated communications and securities firms, then pursued a consulting career with the defense industry and served as Finance Director for the State of Alabama from 1995-1996.

Dr. Williams held leadership positions with Rotary Club at local, state, national, and international levels, served as a trustee at the University of North Alabama, and was actively involved in Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville.

The resolution was adopted by the Senate on May 9, 2013, and by the House of Representatives on May 20, 2013.
