Designates February 2013 as American Heart Month in the State of Alabama.

Establishes that cardiovascular diseases remain the nation's leading cause of death, with direct and indirect costs estimated at $312.6 billion.

Notes that more than 12,000 Alabamians die from cardiovascular disease annually and approximately 2,150 individuals die nationally each day from such diseases.

Urges citizens to learn warning signs of heart attack and stroke, call 9-1-1 if symptoms occur, become trained in CPR, and support automated external defibrillator programs in their communities.

Requests copies of the resolution be provided for appropriate presentation and display during February 2013 to acknowledge the vital importance of American Heart Month.
