Department of Public Safety is encouraged to work with the Department of Veterans Affairs to assist veterans, including National Guard and reserve members with military commercial motor vehicle experience, in obtaining commercial driver licenses.

Department of Public Safety is urged to utilize existing federal rules to determine if the driving skills test may be waived for military personnel with similar experience operating military commercial motor vehicles.

Department of Public Safety is urged to develop rules allowing commercial driver license testing to be administered by U.S. Armed Forces personnel at U.S. military bases.

Department of Public Safety is urged to develop a program cooperating with the U.S. military to assist applicants for commercial driver licenses who have missing or impaired limbs as a result of military service.

A copy of the resolution shall be forwarded to the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
