Commends Shirley McKee of Greenville, Alabama, for being selected to receive the United States Postal Service Hero Award.

McKee, a rural carrier for the Hayneville area, discovered an overturned automobile on Lowndes County Road 17 on August 27, 2012, after hearing a faint car horn and a man's voice calling for help.

McKee rushed down an incline to the accident victim who was pinned in the car, called for emergency assistance, and remained with the victim until help arrived and he was airlifted to a hospital.

The resolution recognizes McKee's humanitarian efforts and exemplification of rural mail carriers as a "life link" to those they serve.

Senate adopted the resolution on March 5, 2013, and the House of Representatives adopted it on April 24, 2013.
