• Mourns the death of Dr. Sara Will Crews Finley, M.D., who died on February 20, 2013, at age 82.

• Honors her pioneering work as a medical geneticist who cofounded the first Medical Genetics Program in the southeastern United States in 1962 and served as Codirector of the Laboratory of Medical Genetics at UAB for 30 years.

• Recognizes her numerous professional achievements including authoring or coauthoring more than 150 papers and being the first woman president of The University of Alabama Medical Alumni Association and the Jefferson County Medical Society.

• Documents her extensive community service including board memberships with United Way of Central Alabama and Girls Inc., plus 30+ years teaching Sunday School at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.

• Directs that a copy of the resolution be displayed prominently in the Clay County Courthouse as a tribute to her life.
