Dale County Commission may establish a "Contingent Fund" beginning with the fiscal year starting October 1, 2014, funded by annual appropriations from unallocated county treasury monies.

Annual appropriations to the contingent fund are limited to $12,000 and may be expended for any county purposes not otherwise provided by law that the commission determines serve the county's best interests.

Unexpended funds in the contingent fund do not revert to the county treasury at year-end but carry forward to the next fiscal year, provided total appropriations or expenditures in any year do not exceed $12,000.

Dale County Commission may establish procedures governing how contingent fund monies are expended.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval or upon otherwise becoming law.
