HB355 Summary

• Creates additional license for manufacturers and brewpubs to sell beer and other alcoholic beverages brewed on premises for off-premises consumption, limited to 25,000 barrels annually.

• Sets annual license fee at $1,000 for the new off-premises sales license for both manufacturers under Section 28-3A-6 and brewpubs under Section 28-4A-3.

• Requires licensees to sell only at the licensed premises and maintain all records required of manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer licensees for applicable state and local taxes.

• Makes existing manufacturer tasting and sampling provisions applicable to beer dispensed on-premises from barrels, kegs, or original containers.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
