Authorizes municipal judges or magistrates in Birmingham to assess defendants a $100 warrant recall fee to recall failure to appear warrants for municipal ordinance violations.

Warrant recall fee must be paid by the defendant at the time the warrant is recalled.

City of Birmingham is not required to recall any warrant and all decisions to recall warrants remain solely within the discretion of the municipal judge or magistrate.

All warrant recall fees collected by Birmingham Municipal Court shall be deposited into the City of Birmingham Corrections Funds and allocated according to Alabama Code Section 11-47-7.1(a).

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
