• Effective January 1, 2015, motorcycle operators must pass a motorcycle test designated by the Department of Public Safety and have a Class M designation on their driver's license or obtain a separate Class M motorcycle license.

• Persons 14 years of age or older seeking a Class M motorcycle license with a motor-driven cycle restriction must pass a motorcycle knowledge test designated by the Department of Public Safety.

• Operators 17 years of age or younger operating a motorcycle or motor-driven cycle are subject to the operating hours, exceptions, and suspensions provided in Alabama's Graduated Driver's License law.

• Amends Sections 32-5A-240 and 32-12-22 of the Alabama Code to establish these licensing and testing requirements for motorcycle and motor-driven cycle operators.
