HB 568 Summary

• Amends Section 22-30B-2.1 of the Alabama Code to modify distribution of hazardous waste disposal fees between counties and the State General Fund.

• Increases the annual earmarked funding for the Department of Environmental Management from $400,000 to $450,000 per year from the 75 percent of revenues allocated to the State General Fund.

• Maintains the revenue distribution structure of 25 percent to counties with commercial hazardous waste disposal sites and 75 percent to the State General Fund.

• Provides that departmental funding be additional and shall not reduce other appropriations from the State General Fund.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the month following passage and approval by the Governor.
