Imposes a $20 booking fee on each person booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center and subsequently convicted of a crime.

Fee is assessed by court order upon conviction and collected by the court clerk in the same manner and time as court costs, in addition to any fines or other charges.

Revenue from the booking fee is submitted weekly to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department Law Enforcement Fund for jail operations, including training, salaries, equipment, and other law enforcement uses.

Sheriff may withhold funds equal to the booking fee from any money held during incarceration and apply it toward the assessment; any withheld funds are repaid to the defendant if charges are dismissed or acquittal occurs.

District attorney may assist in collecting unpaid fees, and sheriff may contract for fee collection services; revenue is supplemental funding that does not reduce other funding sources for the detention center or sheriff's department.
