• Replaces the requirement for eight-hour written examinations with board-approved examinations for applicants seeking licensure as professional engineers, engineer interns, professional land surveyors, and land surveyor interns.

• Authorizes the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors to contract with independent testing agencies to prepare, grade, or conduct required examinations.

• Changes the quorum requirement for board meetings from "not less than three members" to "a simple majority of the board membership."

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
