• Amends Section 35-8B-1 of the Alabama Code to establish that if a community development district is incorporated as a municipality, the territory remains "wet" (allowing alcoholic beverage sales).

• Provides that any remaining portion of the municipality may, at the discretion of the governing body, also be designated as "wet."

• Requires that incorporation petitions provide notice to potential voters that any newly incorporated municipality will be wet.

• Passed the House on January 30, 2014 by a vote of 69-10 with 5 abstentions.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
