• Honors the life and mourns the death of Gordon Moulton, former President of the University of South Alabama, who died on September 28, 2013, at age 73.

• Moulton served 47 years total at the University of South Alabama, including 15 years as president after joining as an early faculty member in business and computing.

• Under Moulton's leadership as chief executive officer, the University was transformed with campus improvements, increased student enrollment and graduation rates, expanded academic programs, enhanced research funding, and development of the USA Health System.

• Moulton was recognized as the 2002 Mobilian of the Year by the Civitan Club of Mobile for his contributions to education, health care, cultural activities, and economic development in the Mobile region.
