Recognizes Lieutenant C. Oliver of the Montgomery Police Department as a nominee for the 2014 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, Alabama's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On August 12, 2013, Lieutenant Oliver and three other officers responded to a suicide attempt call where a man had barricaded himself in the attic with a cable cord around his neck attached to a brace.

Officers gained entry through a side window, located the subject standing on a dresser with the cord around his neck, and engaged him through multiple emotional states while attempting to free him from the cord.

Through quick thinking and determination, the officers successfully freed the subject from the cord and saved his life after he lost and regained consciousness while suspended by the cord.

Directs that Lieutenant Oliver receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem for his dedicated service and willingness to put himself in harm's way to save a life.
