Honors Ean Thomas Hayes, a 10-year-old fifth-grader at R.E. Thompson School, for his outstanding achievement as a trailblazer at Camp Courage in October 2013 at Ivy Green in Tuscumbia, Alabama.

Recognizes Hayes for his exceptional academic performance and his ambitions to become a writer of short stories or video game creator.

Acknowledges Camp Courage as an intensive three-day program for visually impaired and hearing impaired children ages 7-14, sponsored by the Helen Keller Birthplace Foundation, American Optometric Association Foundation, University of North Alabama, and University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Commends Hayes for his diligent pursuit of excellence, his humor, vivacious personality, and his love of pets, particularly cats.

Passed by both houses of the Alabama Legislature on February 11-12, 2014, offering congratulations and best wishes for Hayes' continued success.
