Commends Gary Ray for outstanding professional achievement upon his retirement from the Alabama Department of Transportation as a Registered Alabama Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor after 40 years and 4 months of service.

Ray graduated from The University of Alabama in 1974 with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and was inducted into Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society.

Ray served in various engineering positions including Project Engineer, Assistant County Engineer, Shelby County Engineer, and Alabama Department of Transportation District Engineer for Third Division, District Five (Shelby County).

Ray has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Columbiana for over 30 years, serving as a Royal Ambassador Counselor, and is married to Linda since 1975 with three children and six grandchildren.
