Christina Wadsworth Bishop is commended for being selected as Decatur City Schools Elementary Teacher of the Year Award recipient.

Mrs. Bishop is in her 18th year of teaching with Decatur City Schools, having started as a Reading Recovery Teacher at Somerville Road Elementary School on August 5, 1996.

She transferred to Frances Nungester Elementary in August 1997 as Student Council Sponsor and specialized in Reading Recovery teaching until 2011, when she transitioned to teaching Kindergarten.

Mrs. Bishop graduated from Austin High School and earned her B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University; she is married to Don and has two children.

The House of Representatives congratulates Mrs. Bishop on her achievement and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in her teaching career.
