Mr. Gary Neill Blocker of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, died on January 16, 2014, at age 77.

Born May 6, 1936, in Midland, Texas, he was a graduate of Jal High School and Eastern New Mexico University who served as city councilman and two-term mayor of Jal before moving to Tuscaloosa in 2001.

Survivors include his wife DeAlva Blocker, son Gary Don Blocker, daughter LeAnn Shiers, five named grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

The House of Representatives records his death with deep sadness and offers this resolution in tribute to his life and in sympathy to his family.
