Commends Dr. Berry H. "Nick" Tew, Jr., on becoming President of the American Geosciences Institute for 2013-2014, with his induction held at the Geological Society of America Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado, on October 28, 2013.

Recognizes Dr. Tew's service as Alabama's State Geologist and Oil and Gas Supervisor since 2002, serving as Director of the Geological Survey of Alabama and the State Oil and Gas Board of Alabama.

Acknowledges Dr. Tew's extensive research on Alabama's geology and natural resources, resulting in over 150 publications, and his 2013 receipt of the E.W. Marland Award, the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission's highest honor.

Notes Dr. Tew holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in geology and maintains academic affiliations as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama and member of the Museum's Board of Regents and Department Advisory Board.
