Coach Kevin Austin is recognized for his inspirational leadership as coach of the Sipsey Valley High School Basketball Team since the school opened in 2010.

Sipsey Valley High School basketball team improved from winning seven games in the first season to compiling a 22-8 regular season record heading into the 2014 Class 3A Subregionals.

Coach Austin announced his intention to resign at the end of the 2014 season to coach his son, John Robert Austin, on the Sipsey Valley Middle School Team.

Coach Austin has earned respect for exceptional abilities and tireless dedication to team sports and teaching life lessons beyond athletic competition.

The House of Representatives honors and commends Coach Kevin Austin for his service and extends best wishes for continuing success in future endeavors.
