Recognizes Lieutenant Shane Dickinson of the Winfield Police Department as a nominee for the 2014 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, Alabama's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On July 29, 2013, Lieutenant Dickinson responded off-duty to a call regarding a suspicious male outside the Hampton Inn in Winfield who displayed a firearm and fled into a wooded area.

Lieutenant Dickinson tactically positioned himself and fired upon the armed suspect, striking him several times and ending the confrontation with no injuries to officers or civilians.

On March 6, 2014, Lieutenant Dickinson was awarded the Departmental Certificate of Valor by the Winfield Police Department for his actions.

Directs that Lieutenant Dickinson receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the House's admiration and esteem for his dedicated service to the citizens of Winfield.
