Commends Deputy Jeff Mulkin of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office as a nominee for the 2014 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

On July 17, 2013, Deputy Mulkin and Deputy Jason Orr responded to a medical emergency on I-65 south near Fultondale where a man had suffered a heart attack and was not breathing.

The deputies performed CPR on the 53-year-old man from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and assisted paramedics; the man survived and would not have lived without their efforts.

Deputy Mulkin received the Sheriff's Office Life Saving Medal as recognition for this incident.

The House of Representatives recognizes and honors Deputy Mulkin and directs that he receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of admiration and esteem.
