Recognizes Officer R.F. Jones of the Montgomery Police Department as a nominee for the 2014 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

Officer Jones responded with three other officers to a suicide attempt call on August 12, 2013, where a man had barricaded himself in an attic with a cable cord around his neck attached to a brace.

Officers gained entry through a side window, found a large knife, and located the subject standing on a dresser; during negotiations, the subject repeatedly removed and replaced the cord around his neck and at one point swung from the brace, losing and regaining consciousness.

Officers successfully freed the cord from the brace and saved the subject's life through quick thinking, diligence, and determination despite putting themselves in harm's way.

Directs that Officer Jones receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem for his exceptional dedication to protecting and serving the community.
