Recognizes and honors Lieutenant C. Oliver of the Montgomery Police Department as a nominee for the 2014 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

Commends Lieutenant Oliver (then-Sergeant) and three other officers for responding to a suicide attempt call on August 12, 2013, where a man had barricaded himself in an attic with a cable cord around his neck.

Officers gained entry through a side window, located the subject standing on a dresser with a noose, and engaged in extended negotiation while the subject repeatedly removed and replaced the cord around his neck.

Officers successfully freed the subject from the cord attached to an attic brace and saved his life through quick thinking and determination despite the subject's actions and the dangerous circumstances.

Directs that Lieutenant Oliver receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the House's admiration and esteem for his extraordinary courage and dedication to duty.
