Commends Representative Mary Sue McClurkin for her service to Alabama, having been first elected in 1998 to serve House District 43 and serving continuously since that time.

Recognizes her educational background including a BS degree from Huntingdon College and Master of Education degree from Auburn University, and her role as owner of McClurkin Enterprises.

Acknowledges her leadership roles in community organizations including the Business Council of Alabama, Jefferson County/Shelby County Cancer Society, Alabama Republican Party State Executive Committee, and various past positions with the Shelby County YMCA, Briarwood Christian School, Baptist Health System, and Shelby County Red Cross.

Highlights her service on House committees including Board and Commissions, Education Appropriations, Jefferson County Legislation, and Shelby County Legislation committees, as well as her work on ProLife legislation and service as Chair of Education Policy.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to Representative McClurkin in recognition of her meritorious service and with best wishes for future endeavors, acknowledging her decision not to seek reelection in 2014.
