Hampton Cove Elementary School in Huntsville, Alabama is commended for receiving the 2013 Lighthouse Award of the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence organization.

The school was one of only 11 schools in the United States to receive this prestigious national recognition in 2013, with the award presented at the BRSE Awards Banquet in Orlando, Florida.

Selection was based on superior performance in nine categories of the Blueprint for Excellence Assessment: Student Focus and Support, School Organization and Culture, Challenging Standards and Curriculum, Active Teaching and Learning, Technology Integration, Professional Community, Leadership and Educational Vitality, School Family and Community Partnerships, and Indicators of Success.

The school is recognized for its distinguished faculty, accomplished students, and commitment to high educational standards, bringing honor to Huntsville and the State of Alabama.
