SB133 Summary

• Continues the existence and functioning of the Alabama Department of Insurance until October 1, 2016, pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.

• Preserves Section 27-2-1 and Title 27 of the Code of Alabama 1975 that established and govern the Department of Insurance.

• Implements the recommendations of the Sunset Committee to extend the Department's authorization rather than allow it to expire.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
