SB143 Summary

• Amends Section 31-4-15 of the Alabama Code to redirect armory rental revenue to the Armory Commission instead of to individual organizations quartered in the armories.

• Maintains the existing authority of boards of control (appointed by the Governor with advice from the Armory Commission) to rent armories for temporary purposes subject to Armory Commission regulations.

• Changes the destination of rental funds from "the treasury of the organization or organizations quartered therein" to the Armory Commission.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
