Amends Section 13A-11-270 of the Alabama Code to establish criminal penalties for airbag fraud, defined as manufacturing, importing, selling, offering for sale, installing, or reinstalling counterfeit or nonfunctional airbags in motor vehicles.

Creates penalties for selling, installing, or reinstalling devices that cause a vehicle's diagnostic system to falsely indicate a functional airbag is present when a counterfeit, nonfunctional, or no airbag is actually installed.

Establishes penalties for installing counterfeit or nonfunctional airbags and selling or offering to sell the vehicle with intent to deceive the purchaser about the defective or missing airbag.

Classifies airbag fraud as a Class A misdemeanor, with enhanced penalty of Class C felony if the fraud contributes to a person's serious physical injury or death.

Repeals Section 13A-11-271 relating to fraudulent sale of motor vehicles without airbags; becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
