SB185 Summary

• Perry County Commission may issue business licenses and set fees in the same manner as municipalities in the county.

• County business license fees may not exceed municipal fees, except licenses sold to businesses within municipal corporate limits shall not exceed 50 percent of the municipal fee.

• Additional fees collected shall be split equally between the county general fund and the county debt reduction fund.

• County business licenses for businesses outside municipal limits shall be issued and collected by the judge of probate, while municipalities issue and collect licenses for businesses within their corporate limits.

• Perry County shall pay each municipality a $10 issuance fee for each business license issued by that municipality.
