Proposes a constitutional amendment to Section 47 of the Alabama Constitution requiring all Alabama Legislature members elected to office to undergo periodic drug screenings at intervals determined by the legislative body.

All costs associated with drug screenings shall be paid by the person being tested.

Any positive test result must be referred to the appropriate legislative committee governing the internal affairs of the respective legislative body.

The proposed amendment will be submitted to voters in an election conducted in accordance with Sections 284 and 285 of the Alabama Constitution and state election laws.

The ballot description will read: "Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to require members of the Alabama Legislature to be tested if there existed a reasonable suspicion that the person might be using controlled substances."
