• Updates internal citation in Section 12-15-102 from Section 12-15-1 to Section 12-15-102 to correct reference for definition of "dependent child" in juvenile proceedings.

• Removes requirement that a child be adjudicated as delinquent or dependent by a juvenile court before a person can be convicted of endangering the welfare of a child.

• Allows prosecution for endangering the welfare of a child based on the same criteria a juvenile court uses to determine if a child is dependent or delinquent, without requiring a prior juvenile court adjudication.

• Clarifies that neglect is defined in subdivision (7) of Section 12-15-301 rather than subdivision (4) for purposes of dependent child definition.

• Classifies endangering the welfare of a child as a Class A misdemeanor and becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval.
