City of Riverside City Council may call a special election within 30 days of the act's effective date to determine voter sentiment on Sunday alcohol sales within city limits.

Ballot question asks voters whether they favor legal sale and dispensing of alcoholic beverages on Sundays between 12:00 P.M. (noon) and 12:00 A.M. (midnight).

Election must be held according to standard city election procedures with at least three weeks' notice; election costs paid from city general fund.

If a majority votes "Yes," properly licensed retail alcoholic beverage vendors may legally sell alcoholic beverages on Sundays between noon and midnight; the city may enact ordinances to regulate Sunday sales.

If a majority votes "No," alcoholic beverages may not be sold or dispensed on Sundays after 2:00 A.M., unless otherwise authorized by law or a subsequent election.
