Creates an additional circuit judgeship designated Circuit Judgeship Number 4 in the Thirty-seventh Judicial Circuit comprised of Lee County.

The new judgeship shall be filled at the November 2016 general election or the next general election thereafter, subject to preclearance under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The first judge elected to Circuit Judgeship Number 4 shall serve a six-year term, beginning the first Monday following the second Tuesday in January after the election.

The elected judge shall have all jurisdiction, powers, rights, and authority of other circuit judges and shall be subject to the same qualifications, duties, and responsibilities.

Judge compensation shall be in accordance with Chapter 10A of Title 12, Code of Alabama 1975, with no salary supplement or expense allowance for judges first elected or appointed after October 1, 2001.
