AL SB456

Allows the City Council of Millbrook and Wetumpka to permit the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays after 12:00 p.m. for on-premises consumption only at properly licensed retail establishments.

Requires all alcohol servers at establishments granted Sunday sales authority to complete responsible vendor training as provided by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

Makes Sunday sales provisions effective only if approved by a majority of voters in each city at a referendum held in conjunction with the next primary election.

Excludes establishments that offer, allow, or conduct gambling as defined in Section 13A-12-20 of the Code of Alabama 1975 or Class II or Class III gaming as defined in 25 U.S.C. §2703 from eligibility.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
