Applies only to the City of Tallassee in Elmore and Tallapoosa Counties.

Authorizes the city governing body to hold a referendum at the next general election to determine if alcoholic beverages may be sold for off-premises consumption on Sunday between 1:00 p.m. and midnight.

If a majority of voters approve, licensed retailers may legally sell alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption during the specified Sunday hours in accordance with state law and city ordinances.

If a majority of voters reject the measure, alcoholic beverages may not be sold in the municipality on Sunday after 2:00 a.m., except as authorized by subsequent election.

A minimum of one year must elapse between successive elections on this issue; the cost of elections shall be paid from the municipal general fund.
