SB 478 Summary

• Reduces the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board membership from 25 members to 10 members by eliminating or consolidating multiple designated positions.

• Increases board meeting frequency from at least once annually to at least twice annually, called by the State Health Officer.

• Modifies board composition to include representatives from ambulance services, rescue squads, hospitals, physicians, paramedics, firefighters, EMS agencies, and related emergency medical organizations.

• Adds a State Emergency Medical Services Director (or designee) as a non-voting member to the board.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
