AL SB86

Amends Alabama Code Section 32-6-65 to provide military personnel deployed during their vehicle registration renewal month with an additional 30 calendar days from deployment end date to renew without penalty or interest charges.

Excludes individuals with dishonorable or other than honorable discharge characterizations from the 30-day grace period extension.

Requires documentation of military deployment using military deployment orders, government-issued Statement of Service letter, Form DD214, or unit commander certification letter.

Maintains the standard $15 late registration penalty for those not qualifying for military deployment exemption.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
