Commends Governor Robert Bentley and ALDOT Director John Cooper for their leadership in promoting and implementing the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP).

More than 105 road and bridge improvement projects throughout Alabama are moving forward as part of the first round of ATRIP funding, which was unveiled in February 2012.

The initial phase of ATRIP includes projects representing $138.5 million in funding through the Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicles Bond Program (GARVEE) and the Rural Assistance Matching Program (RAMP).

ATRIP enables the state to make necessary road and bridge improvements without raising taxes and serves as an economic development tool by facilitating job recruitment from companies requiring modern infrastructure.

Directs that a copy of this resolution be provided to Governor Bentley and Mr. Cooper.
