Commends Dr. Rob Pate for being selected as the American Optometric Association's Young Optometrist of the Year, to be honored at Optometry's Meeting in Philadelphia on June 25, 2014.

Recognizes Dr. Pate's service as chairman of the InfantSee Committee in 2012, including travel to all local optometric societies to promote the program.

Highlights his volunteer work with Alabama Special Olympics since 2012, chairing the Eyecare Section and organizing eye exams at state games, as well as school district involvement serving as team optometrist and providing internship opportunities.

Acknowledges his authorship of "A Tiger's Walk: Memoirs of an Auburn Football Player," his media work including a weekly radio show and bi-weekly column, and his service as ordained Deacon and Rotary Club member.

Honors his professional leadership roles including service as legislative keyperson, Team Leader for the Alabama Optometric Association, and president of the Birmingham Area Optometric Society.
