The federal Safe Freight Act would require freight train crews to consist of at least two individuals to improve safety at grade crossings, reduce blind spots, and aid in properly securing trains.

The Alabama Legislature urges Congress to enact the Safe Freight Act to ensure no freight train operates without a crew of at least two properly certified individuals.
