Recognizes Caesar Lawrence, a United States Chess Federation Certified Scholastic Chess Coach and professional tournament director, for his work in promoting chess in Alabama.

Since June 2006, Lawrence has operated Caesar Chess, LLC, teaching children chess through programs and organizing tournaments for K-12 and adult players.

Lawrence serves as After School Enrichment Coach for Birmingham and Montgomery Schools, conducts Summer Chess Camps, and promotes chess throughout Alabama.

The resolution acknowledges chess's benefits in enhancing reasoning, strengthening cognitive skills, improving concentration, boosting self-esteem, and leading to improved classroom performance.

The Alabama Legislature honors and commends Lawrence for his exemplary work as Alabama's Scholastic Chess Coach and Tournament Director.
