Recognizes the late Tommy Ed Roberts, a lifelong Hartselle resident who represented Morgan, Limestone, and Madison Counties in the state Legislature.

Roberts served two terms in the House of Representatives starting in 1974, then was elected to the Senate in 1994 and served until 2006.

As President and CEO of Morgan County Economic Development Association from 1980 to 2001, Roberts helped bring $4.7 billion in industrial investments and 14,742 jobs to North Alabama.

Roberts received multiple awards including Paul Harris Fellow, John J. Sparkman Citizenship Award, and recognition from the 105th Congress for helping bring Boeing Company's rocket plant to Decatur.

Names the Senate Agriculture Committee Room the Roberts-Mitchem Senate Committee Room in honor of Roberts, who passed away on March 1, 2014.
