HB103 Summary

• Eliminates the requirement to publish registered voter lists and election notices in newspapers, instead requiring posting on county websites or the Association of County Commissions of Alabama website if the county has no website.

• Requires voter lists and election notices to be available upon request at a reasonable cost from the judge of probate's office and posted in public buildings.

• Mandates counties place display advertisements in newspapers (at least one-half page for voter lists, one-quarter page for election notices and removal lists) informing the public where lists and notices are available online.

• Maintains the requirement to publish in newspapers the list of voters to be removed during statewide voter file maintenance, and requires this list to be posted on the county website or Association of County Commissions website.

• Applies to all election cycles commencing after the effective date, with the act becoming effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
