• Extends the voter registration prohibition period from 14 days to 30 days before any election under Section 17-3-50 of the Code of Alabama 1975.

• Requires county boards of registrars to maintain open offices during business days within the 30-day period and on election day during voting hours.

• Increases the restricted zone around polling places from 30 feet to 150 feet under Section 17-9-50, prohibiting all persons except electors, election officials, judges of probate, sheriffs, deputies, precinct election officials, and watchers.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
