Applies exclusively to the City of Sylacauga in Talladega County and authorizes the sale of alcoholic beverages after 1:00 p.m. on Sundays within city limits, subject to voter approval by referendum.

City council may permit the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages on Sundays after 1:00 p.m. by properly licensed retail licensees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board if approved by voters.

City council may regulate which retail licensees can sell alcoholic beverages on Sunday, whether sales are for off-premises consumption, and other aspects of Sunday sales through ordinance.

Referendum shall be held at the next regular election or at a special election called by the city council, with costs paid by the city; subsequent referendums cannot be held within 12 months after a failed referendum.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
