• Removes exemptions from Board of Prosthetists and Orthotists licensure requirements for unlicensed persons employed in diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and medical laboratory technicians.

• Eliminates the exemption allowing students in certain educational programs to practice prosthetics, orthotics, and pedorthics without a license.

• Retains exemptions for authorized health care practitioners (doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors), federal government employees, and persons under supervised residency or internship requirements.

• Maintains exemption for board-approved prosthetic or orthotic educational program students designated as "student" or "trainee" status.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
