• Continues the existence and functioning of the Alabama Historical Commission until October 1, 2016, pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.

• Preserves Code of Alabama 1975 Sections 41-9-240 to 41-9-263, which establish and govern the Alabama Historical Commission.

• Adopts the Sunset Committee's recommendation to continue the Commission rather than allow it to expire.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
