Amends Section 25-4-73 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify the unemployment compensation benefit calculation formula for weeks beginning on or after July 3, 1983.

Changes the wage reduction threshold from $15 to one-third of the weekly benefit amount when calculating benefits for partially unemployed individuals.

Eligible individuals who are totally or partially unemployed receive a weekly benefit amount reduced by wages exceeding the new threshold, rounded to the nearest dollar.

Maintains existing provisions for weeks prior to January 1, 1989, and preserves the one-week waiting period with no benefits payable during the first compensable week within a benefit year for benefit years effective on or after August 1, 2012.

Effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon becoming law.
